The Empires Strike Back
The French on the Allied left flank press on out of the wheat field and enter the dense brush where the surviving native rifles lay in wait. Firing as they go the Legionairres manage to fell all three where they stand!

Zulu skirmishers begin to filter up out of the wheat heading for the Reb cavalry screen...

The trailing Reb cavalry fall back and form a firing line as a precaution...

...while the lead cavalry unit charges past the Zulu flank and heads straight for the surviving native cannon!

Shells from the British blue jackets land dangerously close to the lead cavalry trooper sending deadly shrapnel whistling past his head - the two native gunners are not so lucky and the last enemy cannon is silenced!

The second French and British squads form lines in the wheat field and begin to blast away at the moving wheat - a couple natives make the mistake of peeking up out of their cover only to get drilled between the eyes!

The remaining native rifle unit returns the fire of the Britsh riflemen and drops a few of them - the Brits hold fast!

The native swords continue the wiggle forward on their bellies - both sides can hear the other talking now!

The French in the ruins of the Allied center put the Gardner gun into action and scan for targets!

On their right flank the Zulu skirmishers begin to seep out of the tall grass towards the Reb cavalry screen!

At left the second Reb cavalry line pours their fire into the Zulu unit that was heading towards them and mows the fierce natives down like wheat before a scythe! The Zulu behind the skirmisher screen advance in mobs of rage!

Back on the Allied left flank surviving French Cavalry advance in front of the infantry line.

Looking northeast across the battlefield from the Allied left flank.
