The goal is to be the last man (mini) standing. After the British outpost in the Lashindah Valley was wiped out the regional powers met and decided to mount a punitive expedition to retake the lost territory and destroy the hostile native force in the disputed region. Mean while the natives, having found a place where the British might was weak, continue to gather in ever increasing numbers...

The table layout - (identical to 'Amber Waves of Grain' battle):
Souther half of the board looking west - europeans enter at left outpost ruins and table center at right:

Northern half looking west - natives enter from table edge at right:

Left flank - (Sal) FFL cavalry move north (up) in advance of two squads in column.

Center Left - (Festus) British Infantry (x2) escort a light quick firing gun and crew.
Center Right - (Rob) FFL Infantry (x2) escort Gardner gun and crew.

Right flank - (Douglas) Three waves of Confederate cavalry sweep north (up) through a field and towards the ruins.

FFL on the left flank stick close to their cavalry screen as the group moves north towards the central wheat fields.

The British occupy the center left of the line. A British squad waits for the artillery to pass them in column.

On the right flank the first and second wave of Rebs move with speed to scout in advance of the rest of the column.

A thick stream of Zulus emerge in a low crouch making their way through the tall wheat.

In the center Somali swords screen the riflemen and artillery units to their right as all advance south (up).

The guns may be antiques but solid shot or grape from these old warriors can kill you just as dead as a new one!

Arab riflemen with their accurate long arms cautiously advance with the artillery units.
