| A German patrol makes it's way back to the coast three days late to discover their steamer transport has departed fearing the worst. The patrol can see the smoke traveling off to the south and must get to high ground in order to helio the transport to come back and pick them up. Supplies are low and morale is not good. Facing north: The patrol forms a German square and prepares to push out through the bush. Facing south: Natives hidden in the brush begin to prepare themselves. Facing north: The front of the square is set upon by howling natives and many europeans fall to the spear! Facing north: The first wave of attackers is blasted flat and the Germans push forward only to be set upon again! Facing southeast: More natives emerge from hiding and prepare to assault the crawling Germans! Facing south: The square begins to bunch up due to terrain and attacking natives. Facing north: The German line begins to blast natives with rapid vollies sweeping them away. Facing north: All are in nervous action at the square's center. Facing north: The German line inches forward and more wild savages set upon the line line! There is fierce hacking and biting and spitting as many from both sides fall for the last time! Facing north: German rienforcements begin to move to the front. More natives emerge in the distance! Facing south: Steady rifle fire again sweeps the approach clear of teh black devils! Many Germans have fallen! Facing east: A huge bite has been taken out of the German force and the man are begining to panic! Facing southeast: The Germans begin to crawl forward again. Facing northeast: Some are scattered far in their flight from the fighting! Facing southeast: Small packs of natives begin to advance licking their wounds. Facing east: The German line advances as though stuck in thick tar. Facing north: In the distance high ground is spotted in the form of a ruin - if only the Germans can reach it! Facing southwest: But from behind the ruins more natives emerge and begin to make their way forward! Facing northwest: And from behind the Germans as well! Facing north: Another fierce clash at the German front and their fearless leader retires to check the rear! A small detachment is sent out to protect the wayward commander. Facing north: As the junior leaders rally the men several more troops are sent to screen the commander and not a moment too soon! The natives to the rear advance with a clash and howl only to be cut down in detail! Facing north: The German right flank is slammed again and more good men on both sides fall to the ground! A German leader lies with his men. Facing north: The ranks are greatly thinned as the Germans desperately push towards to ruins. Facing north: More natives emerge from the hazy brush and charge shouting their war cries! Facing east: It is all the germans can do to maintain a perimeter! Most of the men in the front rank fall to angry spears! A second surge brings in only a handful of spears but the German commander falls mortally wounded! Facing north: The lone German coward hiding in the brush makes a very unpleasant discovery as another pack of natives emerges from the brush! Facing northwest: The German line is badly shattered! Only a handful of men can be dispatched to protect the exposed right flank! The large pack of natives emerges and sets upon them flowing around and to the left in order to attack the remaining officers! Facing north: The Germans find themselves firing in every direction both to the front and rear! Their shots cannot keep back the tide of spear warriors and the natives close for the kill! Facing northeast: The German survivors watch in horror as a panic stricken trooper is driven from the line and chased down in front of their eyes! They desperately chamber their last rounds and raise their rifles! ![]() Facing north: Several rifle shots ring out from the center of the table and after a few moments all ends with silence. ![]() Natives - Minor Victory! - Heavy casualties makes this a near hollow victory! Germans - Major Defeat! - Although they took a lot with them Africa can offer up many more! |
