Jeweled Hills
Ex-Confederate Rebs and French Foreign Legion both set out with 1 command of cavalry and 9 squads of infantry to lay claim to a region of small hills which have been discovered to contain large crystal 'jewels' at their tops. Control and influence over this region may have an effect on the natives in the surrounding area and as we speak a treaty is being signed that states each side shall own the land they control "at the time it is announced that the treaty has been signed".
Facing east: The Reb force at bottom with their opponet at top.
Facing south: Reb force.
Facing west: French at bottom with their opponent at top.
Facing south: French force.
Facing southwest: The French surge forward an almost reach the closest and central hill in the back ground.
Facing east: The Rebs hasten forward.
Facing west: A squad of Rebs manage to climb the central hill before their enemy.
Facing west: The French rush forward to overwhelm the small group of defenders.
Facing west: Reb reinforcements also hurry to support the advanced position.
Facing south: Reb command at right.
Facing west: The French open fire and sweep the small force of Rebs from the central hill and begin to flood over it. The Rebs counter attack!
Facing southeast: The enemy are right on top of each other!
Facing northeast: The entire weight of the Reb force rushes like a river of destruction towards the Fench position.
Facing west: The French are driven back but at a high cost.
Facing west: French regroup for a counter attack!
Facing east: The Rebs try to consolidate their hold.
Facing east: Rebs in support pour fire into the advancing ranks of French in the distance. The French Commander is hit!
Facing west: The French are driven to the cover of the central hill at top left. At bottom the scattered remains of the French right flank collect behind the cover of the near hill. Reb fire continues to arrive from the hill at top right.
Facing west: The French surge up from behind the central hill to again lay claim to the terrain at top left. More French squads continue to press the advance.
Facing west: The small group of advancing French cling to the hill top and fire accuratly at the enemy keeping them back.
Facing south: The Rebs and center and right pour hot fire at the French but with little effect. The Rebs at left and top left prepare to push the enemy from their purchase.
Facing south : As more French begin to pour over the hill couriers arrive for both sides to announce the signing of the treaty. It was a close contest but the central hill officially belongs to the French who paid a high price for it.

Result:
It became a battle of attrition towards the end. With continued brave assaults by both sides the French managed to retain the central hill and thus secure victory.
