The Ringing of Church Bells
The French have sent 4 squads of Legionairres to sieze a road junction where 4 Confederate squads have just arrived to defend their small community.
Facing south: The French can be seen as the mass of white and blue in the upper right hand corner of the view. Some of the Rebs can be seen at the bottom left hand corner of the view.
As above:
Facing south: At top center and top right French troops can be seen advancing while at center, right and lower right the Rebs scramble to hold key terrain.
Facing north: Reverse view of above. The Rebs fail to move fast enough to secure the town and are confined to the top right corner of the woods and the cemetery at center. The French manage a quickl advance to sieze the red building at left and the hill overlooking the church at right with two squads in reserve supporting both.
East is up: The French manage to hold the reb building with light casualties while destroying two Reb squads that attempted to advance down the road. French rienforcements can be seen at top left corner and on the hill at left supporting a large body of French in the church and on the edge of the cemetery. The Reb squad that had been in the cemetery as been cut to pieces and a sole survivor can be seen huddling on the road just to the right of the red building. The Reb commander just out of view to the top right soon afterward decided to withdrawl and save what was left of his wrecked force.

Result:
The French found themselves well established in the town and only lightly spent after repulsing several earnest attempts by the Rebs to drive them out.

French - Major Victory - WINNER!
