Isolated fire fights break out and the small guns are brought forward to begin peppering the enemy. The large and heavy canvas tent blocks the defender's field of fire as they cling to the protection of their dig. |

The mountain guns make a lot of noise and smoke but their fire is relatively weak and both guns fall silent as their crews are mostly shot down around them with the surviviors climbing into the dig pit at center. Suddenly an entire war band of native spearmen arrive to protect their artifact. The wild warriors launch themselves into the flank mercenaries and quickly spear their way through to the dig itself. |

The native wall of screaming spearmen advance like a wave towards the remaining mercenaries and arabs. |

| The Professor, having made sure his men were top quality calmly called out fire commands and with a terrible crash of rifle and shot gun fire most of the attackers fall to a man. There is some terrible melee fighting amongst the mercenaries with a handfull of native survivors. The last of the native spears is shot down and the few surviving mercenaries pull back to regroup. |

The final moments find a hand full of mercenaries sniping at a handfull of arabs until in a final mad dash the attackers spill up over the edge of the dig pit and surround the Professor 3 to 1. At that moment of death the Professor gives the order to fire and his arabs pour fire into he foursome resulting in three hits. When the smoke clears only the Professor survives. |
